I have grown up on them. His voice remains the solace to millions of injured ones - avoice which seems to echo the depths of despair and yet, balm u.But just a small word of advice - too much of sugar or sweet isharmful. Despite being an avid Talat devotee, I feel that youhave gone overboard with your praises. They do not match withthe dignity and modesty which one always associated with Talatsaab.Name: Sharad BailurHomepage:Hometown: Bombay,Poona, Hyderabad and LucknowSent: 10.08 AM - 6/1What a lovely web site.
As I told Khalidbhai I grew up onTalatsaab's songs. The website is a right combination ofnostalgia, pride, detail and some of the most difficult to getpictures. I am very glad that the page 'A sad Day ' hasmaintained the dignity which so described both Talat saab andhis singing.
There was something about Talatsaab, his voice, hisdemeanour, his reactions to people, a lot of which Khalid seemsto have inherited and the website without effort seems to show.It is a sense of peace and of dignity.Do tell me how to go aboutpurchasing all those CDs that Khalidbhai has shown. I will do soat one shot - all eighteen of them.Name: Abul QasimSent: 10.36 PM - 5/27I have always liked Talat Mahmood's songs since my childhood inPakistan, now I am in Massachusetts,USA.and still enjoy his soothing voice. You are his most obidient and loving son,it shows in the way youhave made this page.Name: SarangShahaneHometown: Jaipur (Raj.)Sent: 5.43 PM - 5/24It was wonderful to browse the site dedicated to one of thegreatest singers of Indian Film music. Was remembered softly.Name: Sharad BailurHomepage:Hometown: MumbaiSent: 11.36 AM - 5/10When I was first sent away to boarding school I was asked tosing a song - not because I was a good singer - just to get meto unwind.
The only song I could think up in my panic wasTasveer banata hoon tasveer nahin banati. This was in 1953. Igrew up on Talat and have never given up liking him. On oneoccasion he came to Lucknow and performed at Ravindralaya.
Thiswas, I think, in 1966. In one song he missed a beat. And I wasmost upset. And missing a beat?
Hehad always been the acme of perfection to me and here he wasdemonstrating that he was human! I am keen to get together acollection of his non-film work much of which I suspect I am yetto hear.
